The work
Story
Silence is often mistaken for nothingness. Yet silence can contain restraint, fear, memory, protection, expectation, or an entire conversation that never reached the surface.
Where Silence Presses Back gives that withheld presence a physical form. The pale center appears exposed but not fully accessible. Blackness advances from the edges while delicate lines attempt to organize themselves into something readable.
The work captures the point at which what remains unsaid stops feeling absent and begins exerting pressure of its own.
